Walking, bycicle, train, bus, hitchiking or flight,

Here is the way to get to my place in the Sassi:

when you get to Piazza Sedile you'll see Conservatorio,

an old building with a gray gate and two statues on the top.

Just beside Conservatorio there's an arch and stairs going down.

Go through the arch but, please, NO Arco Sedile, NO Gradelle Pennino,

NO Gradoni Sant'Antonio,

go down and you'll find me at the 67th stair.

The address is Via gradoni municipio 14.

By car

From Rome

From Bari

You can park in via Pasquale Vena, there's a covered parking (0,50 euro per hour)

or in Piazza del Mulino there's a secure parking (1 euro per hour).

As an alternative I suggest to park in via Lanera or via Castello,

be aware of no parking areas.

Car pooling

If you're coming by car or you're looking for a lift we suggest to have a look on Blablacar.

We encourage to share private transport, it's more fun and eco!

By bus

From Milan: check Marino bus

From Rome: check Marozzi and Liscio bus

Check also Flixbus, the bus that connects Europe.

The buses stop in Via Don Luigi Sturzo and Villa Longo Station.

In both cases you can catch a bus to the city center on via Nazionale (nr 1, 2, 6)

and stop at via Lucana (Stop: Boschetto).

Trenitalia - closest stops:

- Matera

- Ferrandina scalo-Matera is a little train station in the middle

of the wild Basilicata's landscape 40 minuts from Matera.

From Rome there are two different direct trains.

Please check  Sita sud  or Grassani website to get from Ferrandina scalo to Matera.

- Bari - there are several FAL trains that connect Matera to Bari. You might have to move

to another train in Altamura to get to the end of your journey. Be aware on holidays

and no-working days, it might be hard to get to Bari. This will be a one hour and an half journey

very enjoyble if the train is not too busy and you travel during the day. Check also Flixbus.

The closest airport is Bari Palese, there are few shuttles coming to and from Matera

please check Pugliairbus or Miccolis website.

or you might have to catch a train FAL or a Flixbus from Bari central station.

There's also Brindisi airport as an option.

Contact me for any info or advice about transport.
